It can be a bit daunting, finding a therapist. The BACP website offers some pointers on choosing someone who’s right for you.
When you contact me, which you can do by phone or email, we can talk briefly about why you want to come to counselling and book in a time, or just go ahead and make an appointment.
The appointments are an hour long. In the first session, I will ask you some questions, so we can look at what your needs are, and see if I am the right therapist for you. At the end of the session I usually suggest that you have a bit of time to think about whether or not you want another appointment, and you can text, phone or mail me to book in again. Some people decide they want to come back there and then, which is also ok. It is important to me that you are comfortable with me and feel like you are making the right choice for you.
